As we know, one of Karl Lagerfeld’s many talents is photography. And there is something about Baptiste Giabiconi that obviously inspires him…enough for a 10 page editorial in VMAN. As Digitalista M. mentioned before, men inspire us too! We can really appreciate men in well-tailored suits that makes us think of icons from the past.
That’s exactly the theme of the editorial that came rolling down Karl’s sleeve entitled ”Gentlemen of Leisure”. Some ”Gentlemen of Leisure” back in the days were the Duke of Windsor, Gary Cooper and Rudolph Valentino. It takes us back to a time of old-world elegance and tailoring and makes us want to rent a pile of classic movies.
Giabiconi plays the lead, supporting roles in the story are played by Iris Strubregger and Oriol Elcacho. Costumes were designed by Dolce & Gabbana, Salvatore Ferragamo, Louis Vuitton, Lanvin, Versace, Comme Des Garcons Homme Plus, Yves Saint Laurent and Dries Van Noten.. Bring on the Oscar!
The pictures are a preview of VMAN Magazine Issue #16. Available on newsstands November 17th.
