Altuzarra: New York's new kid on the block

Altuzarra S/S 2010

It helps designers to have a sort of fairy godmother.  Alexander Wang can count on Diane von Furstenberg as a mentor. And remember John Galliano in his early days? He had Anna Wintour in his corner.  Now Anna proceeds in her role of monitoring and supporting talented young designers. As we could see in the September Issue, she was very involved in the work of designer Thakoon, and now she has another protégé: Joseph Altuzarra.

Bibi van der Velden @ de Bijenkorf

The jewels of jewelry designer Bibi van der Velden are usually ingeniously put together works of art, consisting of precious and rare materials like ancient jewelry or even pieces of 40.000 year old mammoth tooth. To serve a larger group of consumers she launched an accessible line made of sterling silver, semi-precious stones and pearls.

I think jeans are terrible…’

Kate's style is genetic…

…her daughter Lila Grace already has a distinguished sense of style and our handbag collection fades next to hers: ”Lila’s already got a great handbag collection! She’s got a mirrored Fendi bag and she’ll say things like, ‘I’m not going to wear that anymore.”

Great concept by The Cool Hunter: McFancy

McFancy by The Cool Hunter Access

At the start of the new year, The Cool Hunter will be launching ‘Access’: A dedicated entity that will continue their work of creating highly original, transformational, yet eminently practical and results-oriented strategies for companies to stage the kinds of offline brand experiences that will increase the economic value of their offering.

You really have to see this great concept they’ve come up with: McFancy, an upmarket temporary McDonald’s store that launches at Fashion Weeks around the globe — London, New York, Paris, Milan, Sydney, Hong Kong.
