No more size zero for Marc, but real women with curves to show his collection for Louis Vuitton, an ode to femininity.
It reminisces the Dior New Look style from the 50’s. Circle skirts reached under the knee, and the emphasis was set on the waistline and the sexy cleavages. Who better to embody this ‘Et Dieu crea la Femme’- theme than models renown for their curves like Laetitia Casta and Elle McPherson?Compared to other collections this one excelled in sobriety. This time the eye was not distracted from the accessories: The Speedy-bag was the other star of the show. Re-invented in a variety of materials like croc, fox, metallic woven thread, satin and guipure lace or flocked and sequined.
Despite the crisis this Louis Vuitton collection might seduce a larger breed of female consumers to walk into the nearest LV store. Maybe this was a strategic step for the brand? But one thing is for sure; with Marc making a statement for the ‘curvylicious’, the end of size zero could finally be in sight.
