Mulberry’s sweet escape

A show and party we regret to have missed is Mulberry‘s. They create these great themes every time, and this one would have suited us quite well. It was all about having summertime fun on the British Coast and a lot of sweetness.

The S/S ’12 collection was a tribute to the retro inner child and family holidays, filled with sherbet colors and mouthwatering bags (like a neon yellow Bayswater). Loved the sporty anoraks, arcade-lights-like embellished sequined jackets, the schnauzer with the hooded raincoat and ofcourse the ice-lollie inspired dresses.

The label’s creative director Emma Hill told the Guardian about her inspiration: “It came from old photos from the 70s of me and my family on holiday at Barry Island. It would be pouring down with rain and we would still be on the beach wearing Pac-a-Macs and eating fish and chips.”

Kate Moss also made her appearance front row, with Twilight-actress Kristin Stewart sitting next to her.

As for the after-show festivities: pinball machines, mechanical fortune tellers, mini-burgers, slushie margaritas, helium animals (animal print toiletpaper as well), ice cream…..the Hurts performing…That surely sounded like a Digitalistic party. Oooooh! We say!
