Thursday Treat: Lunch at 5&33

lunch533_7It is Amsterdam’s hottest new venue which just opened its doors a few weeks ago. 5&33 is part of the amazing Art’Otel Amsterdam and boasts international allure.

We had lunch at the 5&33 restaurant this afternoon, where they propose the concept of shared dining with an all day menu available from noon until 1:00 a.m. during weekdays and until 2:00 a.m. in the weekends.

The menu is divided in Cured Meat, Cheese, Bread&Co, Salads, Veggie, Pasta, Fish, Meat and Sweets, with several highlight dishes such as the Yellow Tail with borlotti beans and rainbow chard and the Crab ravioli with tomato and basil which we had the pleasure of tasting. Since we had two guys as our table guests we also had a bite of the Cheeseburger and chips with delish homemade mayonnaise. Thanks to the concept of sharing, we’ve tasted three desserts; Lemon Tart mascarpone (wow! the perfect balance of sweet and sour with a crunchy crust) the 5&33 tiramisù (yummm) and a combination of chocolate and pear sorbet. There’s still so much more we’re eager to taste!

Even though the setting is very stylish -the restaurant, bar, lounge and art gallery make you feel as if you’re in New York or London instead of cosy little Amsterdam- the staff is courteous and set to fulfill your every need.

The kitchen brigade is conducted by the chefs Mattia Pedroni and Daniele Pampagnin who both worked for Soho House and TOZI bar and restaurant in London.

When you come here for dinner we recommend you to have a drink at the bar afterwards where they serve a specific lager brewed by the head bartender, or where they’ll mix you innovating cocktails which you can enjoy seated on one of the cosy sofa’s.
