Lash Forever

imageFaux lashes are the latest trend in the beauty scene. Are you ready to get yours?

My lashes have been seriously vamped up, thanks to Hamima Latoel of Lash Forever. As an eyelash technician, Latoel is an expert in applying the silk extensions, which last up to four weeks.photo 3

The false lashes are applied directly to your real lash hairs, using a safe and non-toxic glue. Eventually, when your natural lash falls out, so will the fake one. The result? Serious bat-worthy lashes – though because of the way the lashes are made and applied, they still look natural, but fuller, longer and curvier.

Waking up in the morning is a breeze – there’s no longer any need to apply layers of mascara – and taking care of the lashes is also simple and straightforward. They can go under water in the shower, though it’s best to avoid using oil based makeup, creams or removers around your eyes. Still, I can swim all I want and not worry about runny mascara racoon eyes!

A set of new lashes takes about 90 minutes to apply, but touch-up refills are much faster (roughly 45 minutes, varying on how many weeks you wait between refills). Depending on how many lashes you need replaced, the cost can vary.

Latoel’s cozy and cute in-home salon is located in Amsterdam west, accessible by tram 13.
