In the NOW: Jimmy Nelson Expo + win 2×2 tickets!

JimmyNelson2Photographer Jimmy Nelson (1967) traveled around the world for many years to portray indigenous people and tribes which he compiled in the book ‘Before They Pass Away‘. In line with the book, his work will be exposed in the Museum of Ethnology (Rijksmuseum Volkenkunde) in Leiden.

From the Chukchi in Siberia to the Dani in Papua New Guinea, he has seen them all. Yet, the exhibition ‘LEVE DE MENS’ (Celebrate Mankind) takes his work a step further, where it will be put in a broader anthropological perspective, triggering the visitors to think about themes such as identity and image.

To create more interaction with the audience, the photographer has created ‘De Studio’ where one can be captured showing his/her Dutch identity. The result of this growing series will be featured in the museum’s garden. In addition, the museum also organizes a range of public activities and lectures from Jimmy Nelson himself.
