Priming 101

benefit_pore-2As temperatures start to (finally!) heat up outside, it also means the return of the dreaded warm weather sweat. In warm spring and summer months, oil production increases tenfold thanks to heat, sunscreen and humidity, which push the sebaceous glands into overdrive. Luckily, I’m heading into this summer equipped with Benefit Cosmetic’s POREfessional PRO Balm and Agent Zero Shine.

The POREfessional PRO Balm is like a primer that works like a base to get your skin ready for the day. It also minimizes the appearance of pore and leaves skin very, very smooth (trust me!) The oil-free formula can be used both under and on top of makeup, but I prefer using it in the morning, after moisturizing and before my foundation, as the formula helps makeup to stay put. If pores reappear throughout the day you can pat the balm gently onto the T-zone, over makeup, for a touch-up.

POREfessional Agent Zero Shine is another wonder product for summer months, as it instantly (I mean instantly) minimizes shine. Lightly brush the invisible powder over your T-zone and sweep over skin to mattify your complexion; it’s fantastic for use throughout the day as skin builds up sweat and oil. As Benefit says, “Shine doesn’t stand a chance!”

Benefit products are available at Douglas stores.
