I still haven’t found out what’s up with the East side of every metropolitan city. There’s this thing that New York (Brooklyn), London (Shoreditch and Hackney), Berlin (Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain) and Amsterdam (East) have in common: the eastside is the rough edge to the city’s glory.
All hip & happening shops, art galleries and pop-up whatevers open doors here – which is exactly the reason why locals love to hang out in these areas, and tourists wish they knew about these spots.
The newest addition to Amsterdam’s east-bound and down list of concepts is ‘Sunday Bloody Sunday’ at Walter’s – The Walter Woodbury Bar. People gather here starting at 3 in the afternoon. Local DJs spin their soulful, funky sounds while Walter’s’ personnel caters to your every hungover need. Walter’s has made a selection of hangover cures, consisting of a varying range of Bloody Mary drinks and the finest of steak ’n cheese. It goes without saying that Walter’s signature dish – the Walter Woodbury Burger – is on Sunday’smenu as well.
