Your Valhalla style guide

Yes, we are excited. About Valhalla of course. On the 19th of December it’s time to hop on the bizarre ride of one of the most spectacular winter festival in Amsterdam. This year’s theme is Cirque Oriëntale. Every stage of Valhalla represents one of the seven magical oriental creatures: The Bonzai, Red Sun, The Emperor, Zodiac, Dynasty, Bamboo and The Dragon. That means there’s much to think about in terms of dressing up.

As I mentioned in my post about Mokum’s Halloween Story, I’m not a fan of dressing up for theme parties. But yet again I challenged myself to come up with a cool look, which completely fits the theme, but looks stylish as well. I’m willing to buy a new look for a party like this, but it needs to fit my wardrobe so I can wear the dress or shoes some other time. I started with luxurious fabrics with an oriental feel like velvet and silk and colourful embroideries. I’m exceptionally happy with the dark green shoes and bag, because they are totally Christmas dinner proof. As well as the embroidered Kimono by Temperley London; this will be my new festival favourite next season. And when you are on a low budget, H&M is your go-to stop, for example for this little black dress with cute embroideries and this black mask for a magical twist.
