Chanel’s ‘little black jacket’ in Japan
As we have mentioned before, Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld are working on a book featuring Chanel’s Little Black Jacket. The first exhibition featuring pictures from the book has been opened in Japan, where many of the ‘models’ made their acte de présence; Sarah Jessica Parker, Alice Dellal, Saskia de Brauw, Clemence Poésy and Vanessa Paradis just to name a few.
Sushi Dreams
Digi K is not very susceptible to addictions, but she does have one… She could eat sushi every day. She even gets sushi-cravings and becomes grumpy if she doesn’t admit to the craving.
Video: Claes Iversen A/W ’12
Claes Iversen is a master of contrasts, which showed off in his A/W ’12 collection last week, considering the location; the old church in the middle of Amsterdam’s red light district.
An expensive train ride…
Okay, so the Louis Vuitton locomotive was THE eyecatcher of the show a week ago. But is a piece of decor -even for a fashion show- worth spending (reportedly) $8 million??? Maybe as an anti-reaction to the crisis, the luxury brand has no worries for its sales to drop. Still very popular in the Asian continent and wealthy oil states of the Middle-East, they won’t be stunned by a few million extra to enhance the show-effect.The custom made prop can be used as a museum-exhibit. Or bid for at a charity event. At least, that’s what we would suggest.
Oh well, we must say it was entertaining, and the collection Marc Jacobs designed to celebrate his 15 year anniversary collaboration for la maison Vuitton was pretty amazing. Enjoy it all over again in the video below:
Garance and the French touch
Did you already check Garance Doré‘s videos ‘Pardon my French’? The title of this video is Parisiennes. Garance takes us behind the scenes of her Paris Fashion Week; from a taxi ride with Emmanuelle Alt, to a chat with designer Isabel Marant and ends with a visit to Colette for an illustrator’s exhibition where the macarons of salmon and foie gras tasted like sh*t…Garance is fun, and she was actually one of the first to receive our Digitalistas-bag when we started the site in 2009. Read more about our little encounter with her here.

Stars modelling the Marni X H&M collection
We were not the only ones to pull on the Marni x H&M items. So did the stars. Watch some behind-the-scenes footage while they are fitting and commenting the pieces they’ve selected to wear at the launch party.

Paris Fashion Week: Haider Ackermann A/W ’12
What an impeccable cuts Haider Ackermann presented in his A/W’12 show! Layered tailoring -Ackermann is great in ‘moulage’- with emphasis on the waist, where most combinations came on the runway cinched with an obi-belt. High waisted trousers gave the models statue-esque grandeur. Such an artistic precision. The chosen colour palette enhances that even more, oozing an understated elegance with copper, pumpkin, oxblood, ochre, royal blue, mouse grey and purple. Put together, they do not always work, but Haider Ackermann played magic with it. We’re in awe…as was the rest of the fashioncrowd.
