Dutch designer Ilja Visser presented her ‘Escapism’ collection – inspired by Cirque du Burlesque – during the Amsterdam International Fashion Week. And it was great! Cocktails, fortune tellers, scroppino’s, candy floss and – ofcourse – a great collection. ‘Escapisme’ took us to a world full of magic. It was one hell of a digitalistic circus!

We were very eager to see the fashion show of Lhana Marlet, a former intern at Alexander McQqueen’s fashion house. Lhana showed her collection ‘Eva’s Apple Revisited’ last night at the Amsterdam International Fashion Week, a collection inspired by her fabulous mum (and designer of label Eva’s Apple). Let’s have some hysterical party on the runway! Birdie, birdie in the sky with Dutch artist Bas Kosters. This designer guarantees some craziness, time after time. This year he surprises us with some mad going tropical birds and ‘bushmen’ you don’t want to bump into when you walk in the jungle. The Digitalistas sat front row.
Check out the video we’ve made during the fashion show of SIS by Spijkers en Spijkers. Dutch designer duo (and twin sisters) Truus and Riet presented their latest Autumn/Winter 2011 collection: Fast Ladies, inspired by car races and airplanes. The Digitalistas sat front row!
Marije de Haan got the G-star RAW Talent Award at Lichting 2010. This prize for the best academy graduates is part of the Amsterdam International Fashion Week. For the young designer this meant the beginning of a rollercoaster year. She got a € 10.000 grant and went to New York to assist G-star to do a catwalk show at the New York Fashion Week. She managed to design a second edition of her collection FLATLINERS. A collection that was shown at the 12th edition of the AIFW. Digitalista E did an interview with Marije about her fabulous job, her amazing trip to The Big Apple and – of course – all about her second collection FLATLINERS 2.0.
