Welcome to one of our new features! Fashion- and other creatives give us a look in their homes, offices, inspirational- or workspaces. Read about what inspires them, funny anecdotes on their interior accessories or collected objects, and find out more about the person behind a creative vision.
We start out with Dieter de Cock. The originally Belgian Head Designer of menswear label Cold Method, lives on the ground floor of a cute appartment in the center of Amsterdam. He has an extended view from Central Station to Nemo’s Scientific Museum, thanks to his big windows. Even tourists that walk by take a peek at his minimalistic, yet cosy interior.
You’re probably already familiar with FOAM, the photography museum in Amsterdam. Today they are opening a brand new conceptstore near the museum, on the Vijzelgracht 78.
Gentlemen can also be a bit rebellious, without losing charm and good manners. Sturdy and unpolished vs dandy-ish and groomed; the Cold Method man for A/W 2012-2013 was inspired by the revolutions of ’68 -the turning point towards a more progressive society- and especially the black & white pictures from that time.
If you’re in need for a pick-me-up, Babassu spa is the premier place to find one. Primp, pamper and prime yourself at their Leiden or (new) Amsterdam locations. From classic mani-pedis to facials, massages and even a hammam, there’s something for everyone here.
Up for breakfast it was on fridaymorning, to enjoy the opening of world’s first Ralph Lauren Denim & Supply store in Amsterdam. Heritage, eclectic, and bohemian items packed in an artisctic loft-style environment. The 200 sqm store offers a men- and women department of denim and casual/sportswear, that exhales the laid back American spirit Ralph Lauren is known for. From collection to packaging.
Kelly Cutrone was visiting Amsterdam where she was invited to speak at the TedX Women event. Busy as she is -she was just back from China, went to New York to see her daughter Ava, and then flew to Holland- she took the time to fit interviews, a Q&A and a booksigning in her crazy schedule. Every inch a PR-lady.
We dished up some questions and dilemma’s for this woman of the world….
The last weeks have been packed with visits to the press-agencies and showrooms in Amsterdam, to catch a glimpse of the S/S ’12 collections. This is part I of a compilation of the things we came across and liked. Whether it was the overall presentation, or items that caught our eye. Check it out after the jump! >>>
