It reminds me when I (Digi K), used to ask my grandmother to make clothes with swatches of cloth she had left for my Barbie dolls. I think that’s when my sense for styling came about. Combining Barbie’s clothes from the shop with tailormade couture made by grandma. Did you actually know that the usage of miniature dolls to show couture was a frequent activity after the second world war? It inspired Louis Vuitton‘s shoe designer Fabrizo Viti, who is himself an enthusiastic collector of dolls…. Watch the video:

Look at what we’ve found on the Colette blog…a real Gabrielle ‘Coco’Chanel lookalike barbie! Why didn’t that one exist 20 years ago?? Instead of dressing mine with Chanel like outfits…Well, at least it initiated my sense of creativity, and obviously some other people’s creativity as well.

Lady Gaga sized down… The little Gaga Barbie doll looks very eehm…cute? (No, that’s not a good word for naked boobies covered up with some black tape.) Oke, fierce then! And despite of the fact that we had an overdosis Barbie and Gaga this year, we still love the combination of those two.

Shoe-god Christian Louboutin has teamed up with Mattel, the maker of Barbie, to create 3 customized dolls. He already created a pink Barbie shoe for her birthday earlier this year.
