Claes Iversen S/S ’12

Yesterday evening, one of our favourites of the Dutch fashion scene, Claes Iversen, presented his Spring/Summer ’12 collection in an empty office-building. The show started with a short black & white video, featuring the Dutch actress Liz Snoyink.

The theme of the collection is based on the lovestory of a woman and her meticulously composed wardrobe. But it also underlines that fame and wealth go hand in hand with loneliness and transciency. Claes took some famous 5th-Avenue-ladies as an example like Jacky Kennedy, Nan Kempner and Mona von Bismarck; rich, upper-class figureheads, that posessed impressive private couture-collections, and at the same time their lives were marked by loneliness and melancholia.

Dutch delight Nimuë Smit for Viktor & Rolf

The lady IS red @ Viktor & Rolf

Oui, oui, it’s Paris Fashion Week! Dutch designer duo Viktor & Rolf presented their latest autumn/winter 2011 collection at the Jardin des Tuileries’s Espace Ephémére. A runway show full of red faces, black and white outfits with a little bit of red. Hilary Alexander (Telegraph) wrote about a futuristic ‘Jurassic Park’ feel, as gleaming short-strapless dresses, jackets and pleated skirts appeared in silver leather, bristling with multiple applications of jagged-edge fins and fans. Well, didn’t we all love that exciting movie back in the days?

The Digitalistas’ little chat with Lhana Marlet

We were very eager to see the fashion show of Lhana Marlet, a former intern at Alexander McQqueen’s fashion house. Lhana showed her collection ‘Eva’s Apple Revisited’ last night at the Amsterdam International Fashion Week, a collection inspired by her fabulous mum (and designer of label Eva’s Apple). The Digitalistas met her for a little chat. Want to see the video? Check it out below.

London Fashion Week we missed you!

High lights London Fashion Week

London Fashion Week: we really really really missed you. But because all three of us are broke, we couldn’t come to visit you. But the next time we’ll be there. We will be back! For now: just some high lights from this fashionable week.

Marc Jacobs says: Goodbye celebrity's! We say: Hello us!

No more celebrities for Marc Jacobs!

According to the article we wrote before, we’ve got some interesting news about Marc –we love- Jacobs! He is planning to ban celebrities from the front-row! Even former campaign model Victoria Beckham is not welcome anymore! Marc’s argument; celebs get all the attention, the show is just a little extra…Instead of a famous front-row he wants to put fashion journalists and bloggers on the seats of the celebs. Joeehooeeeee Marc, we are here!!!! You can call us anytime…

At the Burberry show. In the red circle: The Digitalistas!

The (expensive!) secrets of the front-row

I was triggered by the article on fashionista.com about how much brands pay for celebs to sit front-row. I’m still planning to write an article about the secrets of the front-row. Like why it is so important to have a famous front-row (media attention!!!), why get those rich people the best goodiebags (not fair!!!)  and what do you have to do to get a front-row seat (become a blogger, LOL).
