Lara Tornado

Luckily Lara Stone drives a steady Mercedes SL-Roadster when she gets caught up in heavy weather. For the car brand’s new ad -part of the ‘Icons of Style’-campaign- Lara is lifted in the air by a tornado in the Californian desert, making her look like a modern Mary Poppins wearing her all black Calvin Klein outfit (the director Alex Prager actually intended the ad to look like: “Mary Poppins meets The Wizard of Oz meets James Bond.”)

Lara herself seems comfortable having a car acting as her opponent in the short film: “The difference about modeling with a car as opposed to with another model is that the car doesn’t talk back—which I quite like!” Check the video below.

Saskia de Brauw by Mario Sorrenti for the 2012 Pirelli Calendar

About the 2012 Pirelli calendar

Even if this is not our favourite Pirelli calendar, it’s worth mentioning because we have two Dutch models featuring in it: Lara Stone and Saskia de Brauw. And it was shot on the beautful island of Corsica by Mario Sorrenti.

Lara Stone is Model of the Year

Hip hip hooray for Lara!

Our number one Dutch supermodel Lara Stone received the award for Model of the Year last night at The British Fashion Awards (BFA). She competed with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Georgia May Jagger won the award last year.

Lara Stone for Prada's Infusion d'Iris

And Lara Stone did it again. Soon we won’t be able to open a magazine without Lara’s pretty pout staring back at us…Lovely Lara is the face of the Prada fragrance Infusion d’Iris. Doesn’t she want to make you buy that XL bottle of fragrance?

Interesting detail: Lara’s eyes have been photoshopped in a dreamy blue color, but in fact her eyes are brown. Besides that she still looks like Lara to us.

Some Chanel entertainment…

Why do Baptiste Giabiconi and Lara Stone get to rob Chanel stores and stay unpunished? It ain’t fair! But fun to look at.

Karl Lagerfeld directed this short film named ‘Vol de Jour’ (Theft of the day, TD). It’s like a modern version of Bonnie & Clyde, but robbing Chanel stores instead of banks.
