You’re probably already familiar with FOAM, the photography museum in Amsterdam. Today they are opening a brand new conceptstore near the museum, on the Vijzelgracht 78.
You may have heard her on Like a G6 by Far East Movement or her latest song In the Dark, but performer Dev (full name: Devin Star Tailes, TD) is also into fashion. She likes to be experimental since she didn’t grow up with much, it pushes to be creative with what comes at hand. Now it’s part of her job, but also part of being a woman as she says: “Style to me is very important. It’s fun, I am a female, so some days I feel like being on sneakers and jeans, and other days I’m on stage and I get to wear these really cool house pieces and heels and tons of jewelery.” Check the video….
We’re sure you’ve heard it a hundred times already in the clubs, in many different remixes. Lykke Li’s ‘I Follow Rivers’ is on top of the music charts, and besides the song we also like the official video directed by Tarik Saleh.
Maybe I (Digi K) should make a career change into a fashion psychic. It was over two years ago that I made a Ziggy Stardust inspired shopping, and only this month Kate Moss shines as David Bowie’s early 70′s alter ego Ziggy Stardust. Nevertheless, only Kate can personificate Ziggy like a pro, and I’m secretly proud that my forecasting talent has made it onto the cover of the French Vogue.
Lady Gaga attends The GRAMMY Nominations Concert Live. Held at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on November 30, 2011 in Los Angeles, California.
No UFO-like constructions on her head, no strange ‘meat’ dress as if she ran trough an abbatoir. Lady Gaga kept it sophisticated for the Grammy Nominations concert, wearing a beautiful black one shoulder gown, with an oversized bow from Carolina Herrera. She just misinterpreted the concept of a smokey eye… But oh well, it wouldn’t be Gaga if she didn’t at least do something to pull attention.
She’s only 15 years old, but I l really prefer her version of Bon Iver’s ‘Skinny Love‘. Thanks to an Open Mic-competition in the UK which she won when she was 12, her career got pro-pulsed rapidly. ‘Skinny Love’ has been around the UK charts for quite a while, but it’s only recently that we hear it on the radio on a daily basis here.
We introduced El Rod a little while ago. So we’ll skip the introduction this time, because you can read it here. But we do want to keep you updated about what this ‘out-of-the-box’ artist has been up to. He has released an EP this summer, named Art Nouveau, in conjunction with jeanslabel Wrangler. Now a Deluxe version of the EP has been presented, from which the single ‘She likes it’ has an actual video. The first one in a set of visuals that will be released.
Everything with a relation to creation or creativity catches our attention. And we strive to support our local talents in many areas, from fashion, to music, to art.
